the sun is up. it is a little degree but we will see more sunshine. >>erica: you would not know it judging by some of our camera shots. we do have great conditions overlooking the golden gate. most locations in the '40's and '50's. we have fog in the north bay along the coastline. we have recently lost a few degrees for those communities along the delta. in looks like san jose is reporting 47 degree to buttress. 47 for those in sunnyvale. looking ahead into the afternoon we do have breaks of sunshine with partly cloudy conditions in temperatures for the most part will get into the '60s. it is going to feel like spring out there with plenty of sunshine. the looks like pleasanton
and sunnyvale are flirting with the 70 degree mark. a little bit cooler along the coastline. los 60s for downtown san francisco and daly city with a little more cloud cover here. no problems in the south bay. the more inland you push and further south you go you will pick up warmer temperatures. as we turn our attention to the evening the cloud cover will roll back in. temperatures will drop back down into the 50s. your 7 day around the bay forecast shows warm conditions today with the warmest day of the week on tap for tomorrow. we could see 70's on the board and then we do have big changes into the overnight hours. the rain will pick up approaching from the north bay first. while most of us are slipping will pick up scattered showers along the coastline and portions of the east bay. that will continue to develop as we wake up on
saturday morning. past that it looks like we are in store for better conditions, partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the '60s. let's get a look at whether. >>george: we are starting to see some slowing to walnut creek out of pleasant hill. first, let's take a look at the bay bridge westbound. the back of riches to the 880 over crossing. a moderate back up, a 14-16 minute drive time this morning for the westbound bay bridge commute. on the san mateo bridge we have had pretty good conditions with no problems either eastbound or westbound. i mentioned some stolen on 680 southbound. we could have a hot spot developing. a minor accident was reported around geary in the southbound direction buried near the truck scales. it has already been cleared.
it is sluggish southbound on 680. westbound 580 traffic is still have the out of the alta month has been delivered more but that is no surprise. 680 south looks pretty good. 101 is still doing really well this morning. the slow traffic does not begin until you pass the interchange. in marin county the right time is up to 29 minutes from novato to the golden gate. >>darya: the other big number this morning, and a half billion dollars, that is what is up for grabs in the mega millions the jackpot. that has everyone considering purchasing a ticket. jackie sissel is an emeryville, how many tickets are you buying?

yesterday looking in the water but did not find anything. the man suspected of killing five people in this the san francisco home will be arraigned on murder charges. he was supposed to be arraigned yesterday but that was delayed because his brother could be a witness. there is news surveillance video that shows george zimmerman, the man who shot and killed unarmed teenager named treyvon martin. it shows them arriving at the police station in handcuffs. the question is whether he had any bruises or damages after what he says is a fight where he was firing in self-defense. we want to get a quick minute of weather and traffic. >>erica: right is now, we are dealing with fog in the north bay and along the coastlines. calm conditions, and judging by the looks of the fog, you would not know that. a good mix of sun and

local companies going public today. there are three ipos in the bay area this week. a half billion dollars is where the next mega million jackpot is expected to be in tomorrow's drying. that is how much money is up for grabs. everyone is considering buying a ticket. jackie sissel is watching sales in emeryville. >>jackie: those ipos are chump change. this is a half billion dollars up for grabs. no one has one's its jittery. people are going crazy. the drawing is the tomorrow night. i have been here all morning. if people have been coming in and buying lottery tickets. one man spoke -- one man for just 50 of them. he said once it got over 200 million, he would take a chance. i spoke with several customers to see what they had to say.

>>erica: tomorrow will actually be the warmest day of the week. we have a couple of spots that could reach 70. overnight, we pick up another potential for wet weather. we do have another storm system making its way into the bay area, all of the green looks north of the golden gate and then it will continue to push its way southward. you will need to keep an umbrella handy for saturday. it is time for a check on the morning commute. >>george: we do not have any hot spots to report, lighter than usual traffic around
the bay area. the ride is not as nice westbound. the back of bridges between 880 and west grand with a 80 minute drive time. your ride on the san mateo bridge has been pretty good commute with no surprises. that means good news. there are no real backups on the approach. your ride on the golden gate, 101 southbound is still a pretty easy trick. so is the right through marin county. in the ec there has been a really good ride on interstate 80 this morning. the westbound trip is lighter than usual. the south bay freeways are still lighter than usual. especially on high with 85. the north bay ride is still
spotty from 101 itself down. the drive time is about 41 minutes of of novato to the golden gate. >>mark: rick santorum will be at the jelly belly factory in a fairfield. decanted it is holding a rally this afternoon planning on discussing health care reform. later in the evening, santorum will be at a private residence for another rally. marco rubio, the florida senator says it is increasingly clear that romney will become the republican nominee and it is time for the gop to come together. he is the first term u.s. senator anti party favor whose name has been floated as a possible vice presidential nominee but he says although he is flattered he has no interest.

>>mark: the search continues for missing 15 year-old the sierra lamar. the man suspected of killing five people inside this san francisco home will be arraigned on murder charges today. he was supposed to be arraigned yesterday but it was delayed because his brother may be a witness. he was arrested on sunday for the murders that occurred on friday. fares this surveillance video showing george zimmerman, the man who shot and killed treyvon martin. if the video is of him arriving at the police station from when the shooting happened. he is in handcuffs and being
led away by police. here's a quick look at weather and traffic. >>erica: months we are still dealing with fog around the bay area. in the north bay, mostly along the coastline, judging from the mt. tam cam, you can see that. as we head into the day the fog will burn off. a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures that will range from mild-warm. upper 60s for the inland and south bay spots. into the afternoon, the clouds will roll through in the blanket the area bringing temperatures back down into the 50s. coming up in my next report i will show you the 7 day around the forecast and show you when we can expect wet weather around the bay area and when we will see partly cloudy conditions. it is time for a check on the morning commute george. >>george: a quick look at your ride on the upper deck of the bay bridge, the westbound commute is still pretty good.
drive times have been running at about 16 minutes. we are starting to see a bit of an improvement. on the san mateo bridge, the right has been problem free all morning long. the same is true for the golden gate and the 101 commute southbound, the good news is we have not tracked and the hot spots this morning. we are getting word that there may be delays on the muni metro line, were an accident near san francisco state. a substitution of the shuttle buses could account for delays this morning. we will have more details coming up in our next report. >>mark: the search is underway again in morgan hill tried to look for clues in the disappearance of sierra lamar. investigators believe she was kidnapped. yesterday, the santa clara county sheriff's department said died teams into nearby waterways that did not find anything. investigators say they did
not have a specific reason to search this area, they just wanted to make sure they check to the waterways as a part of their case. she vanished two weeks ago tomorrow. will tran has been following the story from the beginning and joins us now. >>will: two teams have already left the area and more teams will be leading once they get lead statistics on what to do and what not to do. we are off to a very quick start. the line is already out the door. there should be an improvement because the weather is better than it was yesterday. they will continue searching until 5:00 p.m.. for many people, this is their first time. something compelled you to be here, what is that?

man arrested on a sunday for the murder of five people on friday inside of and in oklahoma. they believe that he knew the victims and officials have said the crime scene was sold dictum that it took days to identify the victims. police first thought that this was a murder-suicide. there's also were that some of the responding officers are now seeking counseling because the murder scene was a gruesome. our cameras caught exclusive video of investigators gathering evidence outside of the crime scene again yesterday. several residents were put into evidence bags including cigarettes. >>justine: the president says americans fortes twice, once at the gas pumps and by the oil companies. here is video from about 20 minutes ago, the president put pressure on congress to end $4 billion in tax
breaks that he says oil companies are pulling record profits and that money could be used on alternate energy. republicans are saying that cutting the tax breaks would lead to higher fuel prices. >>mark: do this morning, the american civil liberties union says the aclu obtained records of the fbi and they say that the f.b.i. collected intelligence on religious activities that are protected by the constitution. under the u.s. privacy act, the fbi is prohibited from obtaining records on how people practice their religion. the aclu lawyers say the documents as a violation. the fbi says their findings were appropriate. >>mark: here is a live look outside and conditions around the bay. we are waiting for the cloud

the north bay. the fog will burn off and we will see a mix of sun and clouds. temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70's. as we head into the evening, the clouds will make a comeback. future cast 4 critics by 12:00 p.m. we could see mostly sixties around the bay. we will continue to gain a couple of degrees as a cushion to the afternoon. the yellow does indicate some spots that could very well reach 70 degrees. i will show exactly where temperatures will go a neighborhood by neighborhood and show you the timeline of the next sound system coming up in my next report. >>george: we had been enjoying really good conditions in marin county on 101 southbound, that could change with an accident reported on lucas valley road in the left-hand lane. also partially against the center divider. and it is reported that the doors of the vehicle are jammed shut in and someone inside could be injured. we may see a back of
beginning to grow on 101 southbound through northern iran. currently, the drive time is 31 minutes southbound to. this could turn into a late hot spot. again today we are starting to see light traffic earlier than usual. the drive time of the macarthur maze now is just 11 minutes. that is only two minutes above the nine commute drive time. there is no backup for the westbound bay bridge. >>mark: investigators believe sierra lamar was kidnapped two weeks ago. yesterday dived teams were sent to nearby waterways to look for clues but did not find anything. house investigators said they did not have a specific reason to search those areas the wanted to make sure the waterways were checked. the high-school sophomore
vanished on march 16th. search crews associated with the klass kids foundation will be backed out in morgan hill searching today. will tran has been following the latest. >>will: we are off to a fast start. we should easily see the 200 people like we saw yesterday. the enthusiasm has kicked up a notch. the weather is even better than it was yesterday when it was raining. marc klaas is here with us from klass kids foundation, what are your thoughts? >> yesterday there are 280 people dispatched. we had 200 new check in yesterday. we have been living teams out since about 7:30 a.m.. we will have exceeded well over 1000 people before we are done today.
that will enable us to extend the radius that we anticipated. this is the most outstanding response to an objection that i have seen probably since the 19 years ago. >>will: there are a lot of items out there, has there been anything that has been turned over to investigators? >> we are asking our researchers to look for anything that would be appropriate for a 15 year old girl, particularly a slight 15 year-old carol regarding clothing. when you covered this much ground, you will find things. they're doing exactly as they are told, contacting law enforcement so that they can assess the scene. >>will: this is the first time i have seen you since the investigators have reclassified this case to a kidnapping. does it matter? >> i think that it brings in more law enforcement resources. as far as we are concerned we are doing what we are supposed to. we're searching into taking the responsibility for all of the shoulders of law
enforcement. >>will: i would be remiss if i did not ask, the fbi is doing polygraph tests on many people including family members. what do you think about that? >> it is a great investigative tool. they did a polygraph on me and when i was then they said, let's go out and find your daughter. you have to start with family and then work your way out. the vast majority of child does appearances, there is a family member involved. then, you look at a queens is and peripheral contacts and registered sex offenders and then finally, the most daunting scenario which would be the stranger scenario. if you have to eliminate the various possibilities until you can focus in on what actually did happen. that is where resolution comes in. >>will: will leave you with this shot, people are
heading out right now with so much enthusiasm. it will continue searching until 5:00 p.m. and then, do it all over again. >>justine: and about 15 minutes, a flight will arrive at sfo from philadelphia where a man tried to board the plane with fireworks in his carry- on bag. that 29 year-old is from pennsylvania and now faces federal charges. we started covering this story during a 4:05 a.m. newscast. the man was headed for san francisco international on a united flight that was set to arrive at 928 and carry the man was stopped at a security checkpoint in he told investigators he had a professional interest in explosives and forgot there were in his backpack. there were no flights delayed. >>mark: the man suspected of killing five people in a san francisco home will be

>>mark: there is news surveillance video showing a man who shot and killed treyvon martin. there is video of george zimmerman after the shooting, being taken into police custody with handcuffs. it shows the neighborhood watch volunteer as he exits the patrol car. what it does not show is was a man's lawyer said, his broken nose that he says he suffered in an altercation with treyvon martin. there does not appear to be any signs of that in this video. although a detective does examine the back of his head. zimmerman says he was injured when he fell to the ground, saying that he was attacked by treyvon martin. the father of zimmerman says
it was treyvon martin that was attacking george zimmerman. spike lee is apologizing to a florida couple with the same last name. the couple says they were forced to leave their home after spike lee sent a tweet of their message, thinking it was the address of george zimmerman. the couple is in their seventies and they have a son named william george zimmerman, no relation to the shooter. spike lee later deleted, i deeply apologize for tweaking be addressed. please leave the family in peace. >>justine: we are now hearing from david and elaine mclean. they do not want anyone else to experience what they have. listed in. >> we definitely accepted the apology. we just do not want this to happen to anyone else. the social media has no accountability to anyone. you compare anything on there and they do not care. they do not care how it affects other people's

the odds are one and 176 million. go to our facebook fan page and to join in on that discussion. on to the weather. let's find out what is in store as a move towards the weekend. >>erica: i will not bet on the lottery this time, but i will bet on sunshine as we head into the afternoon. right now, we are seeing widespread cloud cover. as we push into the afternoon, we will start to see some changes. looking at the numbers for you, you will see we have gained a couple of degrees. we are already seeing a warming trend. 54 in richmond, 53 in san francisco, upper '40's in a santa rosa and san rafael. low 50s a long the delta. taking the numbers into the afternoon, here is how highs are shaping up. it will finally feel like spring, a mix of sun and clouds. the more in linden you go, you will see temperatures flirted with 70 degrees.
here is a look at today's highs. more cloud cover and lower temperatures on the coastline. as we check out the satellite and radar, we do have a storm system situated over parts of northern california. along with the rain it is for the moderate-heavy at times. i think that this will skirt to the bay area, i do not think we will see any of this, at the first -- at the most maybe few sprinkles and portions of sonoma county. other than that, dry conditions. maybe a little bit of cloud cover but it is not until 11:00 p.m. on friday evening that we start to see some of the wet weather and full trade the north bay. like green in nature indicating a light rainfall. chances north of the golden gate until we have into the early morning hours on saturday. it looks like it will become more widespread while most
of us are sleeping. as we push into the early morning hours, 6 a.m. on saturday, we could see some patchy light rained through fairfield, concord, oakland and portions of the coastline and in north bay. your 7 day around the forecast shows we do have plenty of sunshine on tap for the next couple of days. temperatures concede the '70s as we head into tomorrow. we will wake up to rain on saturday, that will progress for about half of the day. after that, in little more son and dry conditions into the next work week. >>george: we are addressing our first hot spot. 101 southbound in marin county, we had an accident southbound at lucas valley road. it is backing up traffic towards highway 37. at last check, the drive time was at 31 minutes. it is now at 37 minutes in
